Remicade is a freeze-dried powder form of a monoclonal antibody that acts as an immunosuppressant. It is used to treat conditions related to autoimmune inflammation. Active Substances: Infliximab 100 mg per vial.

Suggested Use
Remicade is indicated for the treatment of several autoimmune conditions, including:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis: In combination with methotrexate for adults with moderate to severe active disease.
- Crohn’s Disease: For inducing and maintaining remission in adults and children (≥6 years) with moderately to severely active disease.
- Ulcerative Colitis: For adults with moderate to severe active disease.
- Ankylosing Spondylitis: To reduce symptoms in adults.
- Psoriatic Arthritis: To alleviate symptoms and improve physical function in adults.
- Chronic Severe Plaque Psoriasis: For adults who are candidates for systemic therapy when other treatments are less appropriate.
Dosage:
Adults:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis: 3 mg/kg at weeks 0, 2, and 6, then every 8 weeks; may increase to 10 mg/kg or administer every 4 weeks if necessary.
- Crohn’s Disease/Ulcerative Colitis: 5 mg/kg at weeks 0, 2, and 6, then every 8 weeks; can increase to 10 mg/kg if needed.
- Ankylosing Spondylitis/Psoriatic Arthritis: 5 mg/kg at weeks 0, 2, and 6, then every 6 to 8 weeks depending on the condition.
Children (≥6 years):
- Dosage is similar to adults for Crohn’s disease but should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Warning
- Infections: Patients may be more susceptible to infections. Report any symptoms of infection (e.g., fever, cough, rash) to the doctor immediately.
- Infusion reactions: Some patients may experience reactions during the infusion, such as fever, chills, or sweating.
- Serious infections: Inform the doctor if there is a history of tuberculosis, heart failure, or other serious infections.
- Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Consult the doctor before using Remicade if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Other medications: Inform the doctor about any other medications being taken, as there may be interactions.
