Progynova is primarily used to treat low estrogen levels in women. It is often prescribed for menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis prevention, and other estrogen-related conditions. Its active ingredient is Estradiol Valerate.

Suggested Use
Progynova Tabs are used for:
- Relief from moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms (e.g., hot flashes), and symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy.
- Treatment of low estrogen levels due to hypogonadism, castration, or primary ovarian failure.
- Prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at significant risk.
- Treatment of advanced androgen-dependent carcinoma of the prostate and breast cancer (for palliation only).
Dosage:
- General Dosage: Typically, 1 tablet (2 mg) daily after a meal.
- Dosage Adjustment: The doctor may reduce the dose to 1 tablet (1 mg) daily if needed.
- Regimen: After each 21-day regimen, there should be a pause of at least 1 week.
Monitoring: Treatment should be discontinued every 6 months to verify the persistence of symptoms requiring treatment.
Warning
- Not to be used in cases of known or suspected breast cancer, undiagnosed genital bleeding, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, and history of thromboembolic disorders (e.g., deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism).
- Regular medical check-ups are recommended, especially for women with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, varicose veins, or liver disease.
- Possible side effects include breast tension, nausea, headaches, weight gain, and uterine bleeding.
