Daktarin Oral Gel is an antifungal medication used to treat infections in the mouth and throat caused by fungi, including Candida species. Suggested Use
Daktarin Oral Gel is used for:
- Treating oral thrush (candidiasis).
- Preventing fungal infections in at-risk individuals, such as those with weakened immune systems.
- Managing associated symptoms like redness, soreness, and discomfort in the mouth or throat.
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults and Children Over 2 Years: Apply about 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon) of gel four times daily after meals. The gel should be held in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing.
- Infants and Children Under 2 Years: Apply 1.25 ml (quarter of a teaspoon) of gel four times daily. Avoid choking by ensuring the gel is applied in small amounts.
Important: Always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s advice for specific dosages. Treatment should continue for at least one week after symptoms disappear.

- Do not use Daktarin Oral Gel if you are allergic to miconazole or any of the excipients in the product.
- Inform your doctor if you are taking medications such as warfarin, oral hypoglycemics, or phenytoin, as miconazole may interact with these drugs.
- Use with caution in individuals with liver dysfunction.
- For infants and young children, apply small amounts to reduce the risk of choking.
- Consult a doctor before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
