Glentel 40H 30’s

KSh 1,600.00

Glentel 40H Tablets are used to manage high blood pressure, reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. They work by relaxing blood vessels and helping the body eliminate excess water and sodium. The active ingredients are Telmisartan 40mg, which improves blood flow, and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) 12.5mg, a diuretic that aids the kidneys in removing extra water and salt.

Anti-Hypertensives

Suggested Use

Glentel 40H Tablets are used in:

  • Treatment of essential hypertension in adults, especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
  • May reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications associated with high blood pressure.

Dosage:

  • Adults: One tablet taken orally once daily, with or without food.
  • Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

The exact dosage should be prescribed by a healthcare provider based on individual needs and health conditions.

Warning

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any other components of the tablet.
  • Severe kidney or liver impairment.
  • Low potassium or sodium levels, high calcium levels, or gout.
  • Pregnancy and lactation (can harm the fetus or newborn).

Precautions:

  • Monitor blood pressure regularly.
  • Inform the doctor if there is a history of kidney or liver disease, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or diabetes.
  • Avoid alcohol as it may enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effect.
  • Use with caution in the elderly as they may be more sensitive to its effects.

Side Effects:

  • Common: Dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and low blood pressure.
  • Rare: Electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low potassium or sodium), kidney impairment, and allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling).

Drug Interactions:

  • Avoid combining with other blood-pressure-lowering medications, NSAIDs, lithium, or potassium supplements without medical advice.

Driving and Machinery:

  • Avoid activities requiring alertness if dizziness or lightheadedness occurs.
