KSh 1,800.00

Etorix 60mg Tablets contain etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation while minimizing effects on the COX-1 enzyme, which protects the stomach lining. This results in a lower risk of gastrointestinal issues compared to standard NSAIDs.

NSAIDs

Suggested Use

Etorix 60mg Tablets are commonly used for:

  1. Relief of acute and chronic pain in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
  2. Management of ankylosing spondylitis
  3. Short-term treatment of acute gouty arthritis
  4. Management of chronic low back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders

Dosage:

  • Osteoarthritis: 60 mg once daily.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis: 90 mg once daily.
  • Acute gout: 120 mg once daily, limited to a maximum of 8 days.
  • Chronic pain (e.g., lower back pain): 60-90 mg once daily, as directed by a physician.

The lowest effective dose should be used, and the duration of treatment should be as short as possible. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

Warning

  • Etoricoxib may increase the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke, especially with prolonged use. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Although etoricoxib has a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects than traditional NSAIDs, it can still cause stomach ulcers, bleeding, or perforation, especially in elderly patients.
  • Use cautiously in patients with impaired kidney function, as NSAIDs can worsen kidney function.
  • Not recommended for patients with severe liver impairment. Monitor liver enzymes in patients with mild-to-moderate liver impairment.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and should be avoided during breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor.
  •  Caution is advised in patients with high blood pressure, fluid retention, or a history of allergic reactions to NSAIDs or other medications.
  • Common side effects include headache, dizziness, upper respiratory infections, stomach pain, nausea, and increased blood pressure.
  • Serious side effects can include allergic reactions, heart-related issues, gastrointestinal bleeding, or liver damage. Seek medical attention immediately if any severe reactions occur.
