Betaserc Tablets 8mg are used to treat symptoms of Ménière’s disease like dizziness, ringing in the ear, and hearing loss. They enhance blood circulation in the inner ear, helping to decrease the pressure that causes these symptoms. Active Substance: Betahistine dihydrochloride 8mg per tablet.

Anti-Vertigo

Suggested Use

Betaserc Tablets are primarily used for the treatment of:

  1. Treatment of vertigo associated with Ménière’s disease.
  2. Alleviation of tinnitus and hearing loss linked to inner ear disorders.
  3. Management of balance disorders.

 

Dosage:

  • Adults: The usual recommended dose is 8mg to 16mg three times daily, taken with meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Maximum daily dose: 48mg.
  • Children and adolescents: Not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age due to limited safety data.
  • The dose should be tailored to the patient’s response and clinical condition.

Note: Patients often experience improvement after a few weeks of therapy, but optimal benefits may take several months.

Warning

  • Contraindications:
    • Hypersensitivity to betahistine or any of the excipients.
    • Pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumor).
  • Precautions:
    • Use with caution in patients with asthma, gastric ulcers, or duodenal ulcers.
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use, as safety data is limited.
  • Drug Interactions:
    • May interact with antihistamines, reducing the effectiveness of both medications.
    • Should be used cautiously with MAO inhibitors.
  • Side Effects:
    Common: Nausea, mild stomach upset, headache.
    Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash or swelling.
