What's In It

Warning

Linezolid can lead to myelosuppression, so it’s important to check blood counts weekly, especially in patients on treatment for more than two weeks or with existing myelosuppression. Prolonged use can cause peripheral and optic neuropathy, so watch for symptoms and stop if needed. Be cautious when using with serotonergic drugs to avoid serotonin syndrome. Monitor for signs like hyperthermia, agitation, and hyperreflexia. Keep an eye on blood sugar levels in diabetic patients to catch hypoglycemia early. Look out for lactic acidosis symptoms and adjust dosage in patients with severe kidney or liver issues. Long-term antibiotic use can lead to secondary infections, so monitor and treat as needed. Only use when necessary and under the guidance of a healthcare provider. Share all medications being taken to prevent potential interactions.
