Suggested Use
Amoxi-Denk 500 is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:
- Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia)
- Otitis media (middle ear infection)
- Urinary tract infections (e.g., cystitis, pyelonephritis)
- Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, abscesses)
- Gastrointestinal infections (e.g., Helicobacter pylori eradication in combination therapy)
Dosage:
- Adults and children over 12 years:
- 500 mg every 8 hours (three times a day). For severe infections, the dose may be increased to 1,000 mg every 8 hours.
- Children under 12 years:
- Dosage is based on body weight, typically 20–40 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8 hours.
- For severe infections, the dose can go up to 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
- Duration: The length of treatment depends on the infection type and severity, typically ranging from 5 to 10 days. For specific infections like H. pylori, follow the prescribed combination therapy protocol.

Warning
- Allergy: Do not use if allergic to amoxicillin, penicillins, or cephalosporins.
- Cross-Sensitivity: Individuals with a history of cephalosporin hypersensitivity may experience reactions.
- Renal Impairment: Dose adjustment may be required for patients with kidney issues.
- Clostridioides difficile Infection: Discontinue immediately if diarrhea occurs due to C. difficile overgrowth.
- Drug Interactions: Use caution when taking with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), oral contraceptives, or allopurinol (increased risk of rash).
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Generally safe, but consult a doctor before use.
- Side Effects: May include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and dizziness. Rare but serious side effects include anaphylaxis and severe skin reactions.
