Amlodipine 5mg Tablets are prescribed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and certain types of chest pain (angina). Amlodipine works by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing the workload on the heart. This helps in maintaining optimal blood pressure levels and preventing complications like heart attacks and strokes. Active Substance: Amlodipine 5mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Amlodipine is indicated for:
- Hypertension: Helps lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of complications such as stroke and heart attack.
- Chronic Stable Angina Pectoris: Prevents chest pain by improving blood supply to the heart muscle.
- Vasospastic Angina (Prinzmetal’s Angina): Relieves symptoms associated with this rare form of angina.
Dosage:
- Adults: The usual initial dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg based on individual response.
- Pediatric Patients (6 to 17 years): Maintenance dose is 2.5 to 5 mg orally once a day, with a maximum dose of 5 mg/day.
Dosage adjustments should be made according to patient response, typically over 7 to 14 days.
Warning
- Do not use if you are allergic to amlodipine or any other calcium antagonists, have severe low blood pressure (hypotension), aortic stenosis, heart failure after a heart attack, or cardiogenic shock.
- Use with caution in patients with liver disease, and start at the lower end of the dosing range.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before using.
