Talimus 0.1% Ointment is a topical medication used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema), a chronic skin condition characterized by dry, red, and itchy skin. It works by suppressing the immune system to reduce inflammation and relieve symptoms. Active Substance: Tacrolimus (0.1% w/w)
Eczema & Psoriasis Treatment
Suggested Use
Talimus 0.1% Ointment is used for:
- Treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children aged 16 years and above.
- Maintenance therapy to prevent flare-ups and extend periods of remission in atopic dermatitis.
- Alternative treatment for patients who do not respond well to or cannot use conventional treatments such as corticosteroids.
Dosage:
Adults and children (16 years and older):
- Initial treatment: Apply a thin layer of Talimus 0.1% Ointment to the affected areas of the skin twice daily, morning and evening.
- Maintenance therapy: Once symptoms improve, the frequency may be reduced to once a day or less often as advised by the healthcare provider.
Application Instructions:
- Wash hands before and after applying the ointment.
- Apply only to affected areas of the skin.
- Avoid using it on open wounds, mucous membranes, or eyes.
Warning
- Avoid using Talimus if you are allergic to tacrolimus or any other ingredients in the ointment.
- Not recommended for use in children under 16 years of age.
- Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
- This ointment may increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid excessive sun exposure, wear protective clothing, and use sunscreen with a high SPF.
- Side Effects: Common side effects include burning, itching, redness, or tingling at the application site. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
