Symbicort 80/4.5mcg Turbuhaler is a combination inhaler used for the treatment and management of respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a dry powder inhaler that delivers medication directly to the lungs, providing both anti-inflammatory and bronchodilatory effects. Active Substances: Budesonide (80 mcg per inhalation) and Formoterol fumarate dihydrate (4.5 mcg per inhalation):

Suggested Use
Symbicort 80/4.5mcg Turbuhaler is indicated for:
- Asthma: For the regular treatment of asthma in adults and children aged 6 years and above.
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): To relieve symptoms and prevent exacerbations in adults with moderate to severe COPD.
Dosage and Administration:
- Asthma (Adults and Children 6+ years):
- Maintenance therapy: 1-2 inhalations twice daily.
- Symptom relief: An additional inhalation can be taken as needed.
- Maximum dose: Do not exceed 8 inhalations per day.
- COPD (Adults):
- Maintenance therapy: 2 inhalations twice daily.
Instructions for Use:
- Remove the cap and hold the Turbuhaler upright.
- Twist the grip fully in one direction and back until it clicks.
- Exhale gently (away from the inhaler) and place the mouthpiece between your lips.
- Inhale forcefully and deeply.
- Hold your breath for a few seconds, then exhale slowly.
Warning
- Do not use Symbicort as a rescue inhaler for acute asthma attacks or sudden breathlessness. Use a short-acting bronchodilator (e.g., salbutamol) for immediate relief.
- Allergic reactions: Discontinue use if you experience rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
- Infections: Budesonide may suppress immune function. Monitor for signs of infections like fungal infections in the mouth (thrush). Rinse your mouth after each use.
- Long-term use risks: May cause systemic corticosteroid effects like osteoporosis, glaucoma, or adrenal suppression.
- Heart and lung conditions: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases, arrhythmias, or severe COPD.
- Interactions: Avoid use with other beta2-agonists or medications that may interact with corticosteroids. Inform your doctor about all current medications.
