Micardis Plain 80mg Tablets are prescribed for high blood pressure (hypertension) and to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Each tablet contains 80mg of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, facilitating blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

Suggested Use

Micardis Plain 80mg Tablets are used to:

Treat Hypertension: Lowering high blood pressure to prevent complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems.
Reduce Cardiovascular Risk: In patients aged 55 years and older who are at high risk of major cardiovascular events.

Dosage:

Adults: The recommended dose is one 80mg tablet taken once daily, with or without food.
Instructions: Take the tablet at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Warning

Do not use Micardis if you are pregnant. It can cause injury or death to the unborn baby. If you become pregnant, stop taking the medication and consult your doctor immediately.
Not recommended for use while breastfeeding.
Do not use it if you are allergic to telmisartan or any other ingredients in the tablet.
Inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems before starting this medication.
Ensure adequate hydration, especially if you experience vomiting, diarrhoea, or excessive sweating, as dehydration can lead to low blood pressure.
Common side effects include dizziness, back pain, sinus pain, and diarrhoea. Seek medical attention if you experience severe side effects such as chest pain, fainting, or swelling of the hands, feet, or face.
