Amlong 10 Tablets regulate high blood pressure (hypertension) and treat angina pectoris – chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. It works by relaxing blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow and reducing the workload on the heart. Active Substance: Amlodipine 10 mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Amlong 10 Tablets is indicated for:
- Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Lowers blood pressure to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
- Angina (Chest Pain): Prevents and reduces the frequency of angina episodes.
- Coronary Artery Disease: Enhances blood flow to the heart muscles, relieving symptoms.
Dosage:
- Adults:
- The typical starting dose is 5 mg once daily, which can be increased to 10 mg once daily based on the patient’s response.
- Elderly or Those with Liver Impairment:
- Start with 5 mg once daily, with close monitoring.
- Method of Administration:
- Take the tablet orally with water, with or without food.
- Administer at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Warning
- Do Not Use If:
- You are allergic to Amlodipine or any of the tablet’s ingredients.
- You have severe hypotension (low blood pressure).
- You have aortic stenosis or cardiogenic shock.
- Precautions:
- Monitor blood pressure regularly.
- Use cautiously in patients with liver impairment.
- Avoid abrupt discontinuation, as this may cause a sudden spike in blood pressure.
- Possible Side Effects:
- Common: Dizziness, headache, flushing, swelling of the legs or ankles (edema).
- Rare: Rapid heartbeat, allergic reactions, or significant drops in blood pressure.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
- Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider.
- Drug Interactions:
- Avoid grapefruit juice as it may increase Amlodipine levels in the blood.
- Inform your doctor if taking other antihypertensive medications or heart drugs.
