Glipxen-M 500 Tablets 28`s

KSh 1,450.00

Glipxen-M 500 Tablets combine linagliptin (2.5 mg) and metformin (500 mg) to effectively manage blood sugar in individuals with type 2 diabetes. This dual-action formula improves glucose control when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.

Anti-Diabetics

Suggested Use

Glipxen-M 500 is indicated for:

  1. Management of blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
  2. Helping patients who may not achieve adequate glycemic control with metformin alone.
  3. Reducing blood sugar levels as part of a comprehensive diabetes treatment plan that includes diet and exercise.

The typical starting dose is one tablet twice daily, taken with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.

Dosage may be adjusted by a healthcare provider based on your blood glucose monitoring results, response to treatment, and tolerance.

Warning

  •  Metformin can cause lactic acidosis, a rare but serious metabolic condition. Patients should seek immediate medical help if they experience symptoms such as unusual muscle pain, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, or extreme fatigue.
  • Patients with kidney issues should avoid metformin or use it under strict medical supervision due to the risk of lactic acidosis.
  • Hypoglycemia: Though low, there is a potential risk of hypoglycemia, especially when combined with other antidiabetic drugs.
  • Linagliptin may increase the risk of pancreatitis. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if severe abdominal pain occurs.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption, as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
  • Consult a healthcare provider, as the effects on unborn or breastfeeding babies are unclear.

Precautions:

  • Routine monitoring of blood glucose and kidney function is recommended.
  • Maintain adequate hydration.
  • Avoid use if allergic to linagliptin, metformin, or any of the ingredients in the tablet.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include gastrointestinal issues like nausea, diarrhoea, or stomach discomfort, as well as possible respiratory tract infections, headaches, and joint pain.
