Suggested Use
Tegretol 2% Susp Fl/100ml is used to treat:
- Epilepsy: Effective for partial, tonic-clonic, and mixed seizures.
- Nerve Pain: Conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
- Bipolar Disorder: For acute mania and maintenance treatment.
- Alcohol Withdrawal: To prevent or attenuate withdrawal symptoms.
Dosage:
- Adults: The initial dose is typically 200 mg twice daily (400 mg/day), which can be adjusted based on response and tolerance. The maintenance dose usually ranges from 800-1200 mg daily
- Children: Dosage varies based on age and weight, and should be determined by a healthcare professional.
Administration: Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal upset. Avoid grapefruit juice as it can affect drug metabolism

- Do not use if allergic to carbamazepine or other tricyclic antidepressants.
