Pergalin 75mg Capsules are used to treat nerve pain and certain neurological disorders. They block pain signals in the nervous system. Active Ingredient: Pregabalin: 75mg.
Neuropathic Pain
Suggested Use
Pergalin 75mg Capsules are indicated for:
- Neuropathic Pain: Effective in managing pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles (post-herpetic neuralgia), or spinal cord injury.
- Fibromyalgia: Reduces pain and improves physical function in fibromyalgia patients.
- Epilepsy: Used as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization.
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Helps alleviate symptoms of anxiety.
Dosage:
- Neuropathic Pain:
Initial dose: 75mg twice daily.
The dose may be increased to 150mg twice daily based on response and tolerability. - Fibromyalgia:
Initial dose: 75mg twice daily.
The dose may be titrated up to 225mg twice daily, depending on the patient’s needs. - Epilepsy:
Start with 75mg twice daily, adjustable to a maximum of 300mg per day. - Generalized Anxiety Disorder:
Start with 75mg per day and titrate up to 300mg/day as needed.
Dosage adjustments are required in patients with renal impairment.
Warning
- Discontinue use if signs of hypersensitivity (rash, hives, swelling) occur.
- May impair the ability to perform tasks requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery.
- Monitor for signs of depression or suicidal ideation.
- Monitor for fluid retention, particularly in patients with heart conditions.
- Do not stop abruptly; taper the dose gradually under medical supervision.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider.
- Dose adjustments are necessary in patients with impaired kidney function
