Pariet 10mg Tablets reduce stomach acid and are used for conditions related to excess acid. The active ingredient is Rabeprazole Sodium 10mg.
Proton Pump Inhibitors
Suggested Use
Pariet 10mg is indicated for:
- Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including symptomatic relief of heartburn and acid regurgitation.
- Healing and maintenance of duodenal ulcers and gastric ulcers.
- Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome or other conditions involving excessive stomach acid production.
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori when combined with appropriate antibiotics.
Dosage:
Adults:
- GERD and symptomatic relief:
- 10mg once daily, typically in the morning, with or without food.
- Duodenal or gastric ulcers:
- 10-20mg once daily, depending on the severity, for 4-8 weeks.
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome:
- Initial dose of 60mg daily, adjusted based on response (higher doses may require divided administration).
- Helicobacter pylori eradication (combination therapy):
- 10mg twice daily with appropriate antibiotics as per your physician’s prescription.
Warning
- Do not use if allergic to rabeprazole or any proton pump inhibitor.
- Caution with long-term use: May increase risk of fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, or hypomagnesemia.
- Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Use only if needed and prescribed by a doctor.
- Interactions: Inform your doctor about all medications, especially warfarin, digoxin, antifungal drugs, and methotrexate.
- Kidney or liver impairment: Close monitoring is advised; dose adjustments may be required.
- Report persistent symptoms like unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, or stomach pain, as they may indicate a serious underlying condition.
- Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole for proper action.
