Glimepiride Denk 3mg Tablets help control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and improving insulin use. They are part of a comprehensive diabetes management plan that includes diet and exercise. Active Ingredient: Glimepiride 3mg.
Anti-Diabetics
Suggested Use
- Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight reduction alone are insufficient to achieve adequate glycemic control.
- May be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin or insulin.
Adults:
- Initial dose: 1mg to 2mg once daily with breakfast or the first main meal.
- Maintenance dose: Adjust based on blood glucose levels, typically ranging from 1mg to 4mg once daily.
- Maximum dose: 6mg per day.
Warning
- Hypoglycaemia: Increased risk, especially when combined with other antidiabetic medications.
- Allergic Reactions: Do not use if you are allergic to glimepiride or other sulfonylureas.
- Liver and Kidney Disease: Use with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney disorders.
- Pregnancy and Lactation: Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- G6PD Deficiency: May cause hemolytic anaemia in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
