Flagentyl 500mg Tablets effectively treat infections from protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. Each tablet contains 500 mg of secnidazole.

Suggested Use
Flagentyl 500mg Tablets are used to treat:
- Amoebiasis: Infections caused by Entamoeba histolytica affecting the intestines or liver.
- Giardiasis: An infection caused by Giardia lamblia, commonly presenting as diarrhoea.
- Trichomoniasis: A sexually transmitted infection caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.
Dosage is based on body weight and should only be determined and administered by a healthcare provider.
Warning
- Do not use it if you are allergic to secnidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives.
- Consult a doctor before use, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after completing the dose, as this may cause severe nausea, vomiting, or other adverse reactions.
- Caution is advised in patients with existing neurological conditions, as Flagentyl may increase the risk of side effects.
- Patients with liver impairment should use Flagentyl cautiously and under medical supervision.
- Common side effects may include nausea, stomach pain, metallic taste, or headache.
- Rarely, neurological side effects like dizziness, confusion, or seizures may occur.
