Exforge is primarily used for:
- Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): It helps reduce blood pressure, thus decreasing the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.
The recommended starting dose is one tablet of Exforge 10mg/160mg taken once daily. However, the exact dosage may vary depending on the patient’s medical history and response to treatment. It should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food. Dosage adjustments should be made by a healthcare provider.
Warning
- Do not use Exforge if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, or any other ingredients in the formulation.
- Exforge should not be used during pregnancy as it can harm the developing fetus.
- Use with caution in patients with severe kidney or liver impairment.
- Can cause low blood pressure, especially after the first dose or dosage increase.
- Risk of high potassium levels; regular monitoring may be needed.
