Anti-Hypertensives

Suggested Use

  1. Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), helping to reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
  2. Management of heart failure by improving heart function and symptoms.
  3. Can be used to prevent complications in patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction, a condition where the heart has reduced pumping ability but no symptoms.

Dosage:

  • Adults: The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. Depending on response and tolerance, the dose may be increased to a maintenance dose of 10-20 mg once daily or in divided doses. The maximum dose should not exceed 40 mg per day.
  • Heart Failure: The starting dose is usually 2.5 mg once daily, which may be gradually increased to 20 mg daily in divided doses based on clinical response.
  • Elderly Patients: Dose adjustments may be needed based on kidney function and clinical response.
  • Children (6 years and older): Dose and usage are based on body weight and will be determined by a physician.

Take Enalapril as directed by a healthcare professional. It can be taken with or without food but should be taken at the same time each day.
