Diracip M tablet has two active substances: Diloxanide Furoate and Metronidazole. Diloxanide Furoate helps treat amoeba infections, while Metronidazole is useful for different protozoal infections. It works by inhibiting energy production, which leads to the removal of bacteria, parasites, and amoeba in the intestines.

Suggested Use
Diracip M 250mg is primarily used to treat:
- Amoebiasis (both intestinal and extra-intestinal)
- Giardiasis (infection caused by Giardia)
- Other anaerobic infections where both Diloxanide and Metronidazole show efficacy, particularly within the gastrointestinal system.
The dosage of Diracip M 250mg Tablets should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Warning
- Avoid if allergic to Diloxanide Furoate, Metronidazole, or any excipients in the formulation.
- Avoid alcohol during and at least 48 hours after completing the treatment with Metronidazole due to the risk of severe reactions (e.g., nausea, vomiting, rapid heart rate).
- Use cautiously in patients with liver disease; dosage adjustment may be required.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended unless advised by a healthcare provider.
- Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, and metallic taste.
