Carvedilol tablets are used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. They function by lessening the strain on the heart and reducing blood pressure. The tablets come in four strengths: 3.125mg, 6.25mg, 12.5mg, and 25mg. Active Ingredient: Carvedilol.

Suggested Use
Dilatrend Tablets are indicated for the following conditions:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure): To help reduce blood pressure and prevent complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage.
- Chronic Heart Failure: Used to improve heart function, reduce symptoms, and enhance overall quality of life in patients with moderate to severe heart failure.
- Left Ventricular Dysfunction Post-Myocardial Infarction: Used in the management of stable heart function following a heart attack.
Dosage based on individual response and tolerance. Always follow the prescribing physician’s instructions.
Warning
- Carvedilol may cause blood pressure to drop significantly, especially when standing up, leading to dizziness or fainting. Take caution when standing up quickly.
- May exacerbate asthma or other respiratory conditions due to bronchoconstriction. Not recommended for patients with bronchial asthma or related conditions.
- May mask symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Close monitoring of blood glucose levels is advised in diabetic patients.
- Should be used with caution in patients with severe heart failure, heart block, or bradycardia (slow heart rate) as it may worsen symptoms.
- In rare cases, serious allergic reactions may occur. Discontinue use and seek medical assistance if signs of an allergy appear.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a physician due to potential risks to the baby.
Common Side Effects:
- Fatigue, dizziness, and headache
- Diarrhea and nausea
- Bradycardia (slow heart rate)
- Weight gain and oedema (swelling)
