Co-Diovan combines Valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) when a single drug isn’t effective. Valsartan helps to relax blood vessels, while Hydrochlorothiazide works as a diuretic to boost urine flow, reduce fluid buildup, and lower blood pressure.

Suggested Use
- Co-Diovan is prescribed for managing mild to moderate hypertension.
- It effectively lowers the risk of complications such as stroke, heart failure, and kidney damage that can arise from high blood pressure.
- The usual starting dose is one tablet (80mg/12.5mg) once daily. Your healthcare provider might change the dosage based on your needs and response to the medication.
Warning
- Do not take this medication if you are allergic to valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the ingredients in the tablets.
- Be careful if you have serious kidney or liver problems.
- Monitor your electrolyte levels, as this medicine can cause imbalances.
- Do not use it if you are pregnant, and talk to your doctor if you become pregnant while on it.
- Let your doctor know about all the medications you are using, as Co-Diovan may interact with drugs like lithium and those for blood pressure.
