If you are allergic to artemether or lumefantrine, do not use this medication. It is important to inform your doctor about all your current medications and any changes, especially if you are taking carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampin, or St. John’s wort, as serious drug interactions can occur. Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, fever, cough, weakness, muscle pain, joint pain, vomiting, or loss of appetite. Seek emergency medical help if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, fast heart rate, difficult breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Contact your doctor if you develop fever, chills, body aches, severe headache, or flu symptoms after completing the medication. This medication may affect the effectiveness of birth control pills, so consult your doctor or pharmacist. Be cautious as it may cause dizziness and impair your ability to operate a vehicle or machinery. Unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist, avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice as it can increase the chance of side effects.
