Amoxil 250mg Suspension is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that effectively treats bacterial infections in children and adults who prefer liquid medication. Suggested Use
Amoxil 250mg Suspension is used to treat bacterial infections such as:
- Ear infections
- Throat infections
- Sinusitis
- Tonsillitis
- Bronchitis
- Pneumonia
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin infections.
Dosage:
The dosage depends on the severity of the infection and the patient’s age and weight. Generally, it is taken:
- Mild to moderate infections: 250mg every 8-12 hours
- Severe infections: 500mg every 8-12 hours
- Acute Otitis Media: 80-90mg/kg/day divided every 8-12 hours
- Lower Respiratory Tract Infections: 45mg/kg/day divided every 8-12 hours
Warning
- Avoid use in patients with a known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, penicillins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
- Prolonged use may lead to fungal or bacterial superinfections.
- Use with caution and adjust dosage as necessary.
- Discontinue use and consult a physician if severe diarrhoea or symptoms of pseudomembranous colitis occur.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult a healthcare provider before use.
- May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) and other medications.
Storage Instructions
- Store below 25°C in a dry place.
- After reconstitution, refrigerate and use within 7 days. Discard any unused portion.
