Amisulpride is used to treat both acute and chronic schizophrenia. It helps manage symptoms such as:
- Delusions (having strange or unusual thoughts)
- Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
- Negative symptoms (becoming withdrawn and subdued)
Dosage:
The dosage varies based on individual patient needs:
- General Dosage Range: 50 mg to 800 mg per day.
- For acute psychotic episodes, doses may be increased up to 1200 mg per day under medical supervision.
- It is recommended to take the tablets preferably before meals, either once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare provider. The exact dosage should be tailored to the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
Warning
- Do not take Amisulpride if you are allergic to amisulpride or any of the other ingredients.
- Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Elderly Patients: Use with caution due to the risk of hypotension and sedation.
