Alphagan Eye Drops 5ml is an ophthalmic solution used to manage intraocular pressure (IOP) in conditions such as glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is formulated to reduce fluid production and enhance drainage within the eye, helping to maintain healthy optic nerve function. Active Substances: Brimonidine Tartrate 0.15% w/v:

Suggested Use

Alphagan Eye Drops is indicated for:

  1. Glaucoma: Lowering elevated intraocular pressure to prevent optic nerve damage.
  2. Ocular Hypertension: Reducing eye pressure to minimize the risk of glaucoma development.
Dosage:

The recommended dosage for Alphagan Eye Drops is:

  • Adults: One drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart.
  • If using other topical ophthalmic medications, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between applications to avoid dilution

Warning

  • Not suitable for patients with hypersensitivity to brimonidine tartrate or any components of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in neonates and infants under 2 years old and those taking monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors
  •  Common side effects may include blurred vision, dry mouth, drowsiness, eye redness, and discomfort. While these effects often resolve without medical intervention, persistent symptoms should be discussed with a healthcare provider
  •  Patients should remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. The dropper tip should not touch any surface to prevent contamination
